2020 Classes and Workshops

Coni Grant is an enthusiastic and innovative artist, committed to art education at every level.

A teacher and painting demonstrator for over 20 years, she is comfortable in situations as varied as kindergarten classes, college level instruction and professional plein air (outdoor) workshops.

 

 

Current Classes: October 29 to December 17 - At the Alamosa Family Recreation Center

Thursday Mornings, 9am - noon

This very special class is limited to 7 students each week - giving priority to students who are registered for the entire session.  Masks are required.
Drop-ins will be allowed if there are not already 7 students in class on a given day.
The Alamosa Family Recreation Center has put protocols in place to ensure the cleanliness
of the facility,  and the room size has been doubled for greater space and ventilation.

Class Instruction in Alamosa, Colorado

Coni teaches year around adult Painting classes through the Alamosa Family Recreation Center. 

Classes are offered in 8 week Sessions, beginning in January. 

Class meetings always address foundational painting skills such as design and composition, color mixing, and brush work,  - and lessons get us painting landscape, portrait, animals, and still life.

Classes are not consecutive but continuous in nature, helping students at all levels. Advanced painters improve while new students jump in with out missing out on basics.

Summer and Fall Plein Air sessions.

In the Summer and Fall, all classes go out to paint en plein air in and around Alamosa.

Classes meet Tuesday Evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 pm and

Thursday Mornings from 9 am to noon

Painters traveling thru the San Luis Valley or local painters who would like to join us for a morning or evening of plein air painting & instruction,

may do so for a $15.per-class-meeting fee. Contact Coni through this website.

Individual Instruction at the PleinView Studio, or en plein air: $35 an hour, per individual;

3 hours minimum.

Demos for Education: Local school and non-profit groups: $40 for 2 hour session; - outside the San Luis Valley, add travel expenses and mileage. Painting not included.  Contact Coni through this website.

 

One-time Special Event Class - 3 hour session - up to 20 painters - Fee negotiable.

These classes encourage team building and are designed for non-painters or those who have never painted - in a way that is both, educational and fun. Students paint-a-long with Coni while learning the basic concepts of Design, Color, Value and Brushwork; outside the San Luis Valley, add travel expenses and mileage.
