Coni Grant is an enthusiastic and innovative artist, committed to art education at every level.
A teacher and painting demonstrator for over 25 years, she is comfortable in situations as varied as kindergarten classes, foreign language/cross cultural classes, university level instruction and professional plein air (outdoor) workshops.
Class Instruction in Alamosa, Colorado:
Coni teaches year around adult Painting Classes - offered in 8 week sessions.
Class meetings address foundational painting skills such as design and composition, color mixing, and brush work, - and lessons get us painting landscape, portrait, animals, and still life.
Classes are not consecutive but continuous in nature, serving students at all levels.
Advanced painters improve while new students jump in without missing out on basics.

Plein Air Classes for Summer and Fall.
In the Summer and Fall all Adult painting classes go outside to paint in and around the beautiful
San Luis Valley.
This is the best way to experience Colorado's fabulous landscape - in safe settings with parking,
shade and instruction.
Students provide their own supplies. Location schedules and Supply Lists available on request.
Plein Air classes are offered in July & August, September & October , and registration is handled
by Coni directly.
Summer Plein air Painting Classes - July and August.
Classes start on Thursday, July 2 and continue through August 27, from 9am to 1pm
If you are new and have never painted with us, contact Coni through this website to reserve a spot.
To Register: pay Coni directly - at the painting location at the first meeting on July 2nd.
Full registration is $120. for 8 weeks of painting, - or drop-in on a class for $20. per meeting.
Pay at the site: CASH or checks made out to Coni Grant.
The first Plein Air class will be Thursday, July 2nd, 9am to 1pm
at Blanca Vista Park in Alamosa: take State St. north out of town, turn into the small parking lot on the east side of the road, across the street from Cattails Golf Course.
Location Schedules for the entire summer session will be handed out at that time.

WORKSHOPS in 2026
Crash Course in ACRYLIC - Painting Workshop at Creede Center for the Arts, Creede, CO
Monday July 27, 9am - 4pm, with 1hr. for lunch
Acrylics are popular with amazing versatility and potential.
This class is for painters from beginner level on up - who want to gain confidence in Acrylic and
are ready to push their work in new directions. Students will work through 2 projects that teach techniques that can be applied to their own painting process.

Using Color with Confidence - Painting Workshop hosted at Greenstone Artworks in Westcliffe, CO
Fri. and Sat., August 14 & 15, 2 Mornings of painting, 9am to noon
The focus is on bold, innovative color.
Broaden you skill set while learning techniques to help you find your own color "voice'.
Suggested for intermediate painters who want to heighten their color sensibility.

Crash Course in Painting - all mediums welcome.
These one-day workshops can be medium specific or not, but the focus is always on design, composition, and innovative color use. The concepts apply to all mediums. Painters learn how to create stronger work while becoming more confident and creative at the easel.

One-time Special Event Classes - 3 hour sessions - up to 20 painters - Fee negotiable and based on budgetary considerations and supplies.
These classes encourage team building and are designed for non-painters or those who have never painted - in a way that is both, educational and fun.
Students paint-a-long with Coni while learning the basic concepts of Design, Color, Value and Brushwork; - outside the San Luis Valley, add travel expenses and mileage.
