SOLO Show

August 30 - September 30, 2021

Cloyde Snook Gallery,

Adams State University,

Alamosa, CO

It was almost 3 years ago that I was invited to do this show.

It seems like a lifetime ago.

Originally set for spring 2020, that show is long gone- cancelled due to COVID.

The pandemic did not stop the flow of "art making" though.  That is what artists do - in good times and hard times; they continue to interpret the world around them.

For me the pandemic time was a great gift:  time in solitary exploration. Not all of it is reflected here but in the end the path has been as important as the product.

This work is about the exploration of the acrylic medium and the use of acrylic techniques as a way to push forward ideas.

I am fascinated with work that celebrates both substance and surface - abstraction and a play of paint. The possibilities, and the challenges of a new medium have brought a renewed sense of joy and freedom to my work.

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working".- Pablo Picasso
